Doctoral / Postdoctoral position in medical devices

 

The Ariel Biomechanics Center at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics at Ariel University in Israel is seeking doctoral / postdoctoral candidates to conduct applied, numerical and experimental investigation in the field of R&D of a novel Ventricle Assist Device.

The candidate will join a well-established enthusiastic group of scientists under the supervision of Prof. Idit Avrahami and will join our effort to explore and optimize the hemodynamical and clinical behavior of a novel design of a ventricle assist device.

This research is expected to lead to a novel and effective type of blood pumps and fundamental understanding of their hemodynamic mechanism on practical and clinical applications. The proposed position is supported by the Israeli science foundation and in collaboration with Rabin Medical Center. Ariel University offers a collaborative research environment and features state-of-the-art research facilities relevant to the proposed position. A full competitive scholarship and subsidized accommodation are offered to prospective candidates in this program. 

Required Qualifications: A successful MSc / PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or biomedical Engineering, with proved experience in fluid dynamics application and publications record. Preferred Qualifications: former studies or industrial experience with turbo-pumps, and/or numerical methods.
